1.3 seconds a tamp. Zero guesswork.

Tamping by hand changes from barista to barista and from the first coffee of the day to the three hundredth. PUQ Press sits beside or under your grinder and applies the same pressure, perfectly level, to every dose.

Consistent tamping is proven for better extraction and better flavour, and it takes a repetitive, forceful movement out of every coffee.

The problem

Hand tamping is quietly costing you.

Tamping is one of the easiest steps to rush during service, and one of the hardest to keep consistent. Four costs add up every shift.

  1. 01

    Barista strain

Manual tamping can lead to musculoskeletal injury risks for baristas.

  2. 02

    Inconsistency

Different staff tamp with different pressure and at different angles.

  3. 03

    Remade shots

Uneven extraction sends coffee and time down the drain.

  4. 04

    Training time

New staff take time to learn a consistent tamp.
